Alkilados

Alkilados is a Colombian quintet formed in Pereira in 2010, consisting of Juanis, Lucho, JuanMa, Xavi, and Eche. They emerged during the 'Colombian Wave' of urban music, distinguishing themselves through a signature 'Pura Playa' sound. This aesthetic successfully bridged the gap between the burgeoning reggaeton scene and the more traditional pop-rock and reggae-fusion markets. Their sound identity is defined by the prominent use of the ukulele, which serves as a melodic counterpoint to electronic drum patterns and dancehall-influenced basslines.

Throughout their career, they have collaborated with major industry players like J Balvin and Maluma, helping to soften the edges of the urban genre for a broader, all-ages audience. Their critical and commercial success is rooted in their ability to maintain a consistent tropical atmosphere across various subgenres including soka and pop-reggae. They occupy a cultural space similar to Piso 21 or Mike Bahía, prioritizing high-energy, positive, and romantic themes over the harder lyrical content of street-level trap or reggaeton. They remain a staple of Latin American summer playlists and festival circuits.
