Formed in Reykjavík in 1996, the Icelandic indie pop band Amiina consists of María Huld Markan Sigfúsdóttir, Hildur Ársælsdóttir, Edda Rún Ólafsdóttir, and Sólrún Sumarliðadóttir. Their sound blends ambient, electronic, and contemporary classical elements, often utilizing a wide array of instruments. During live performances, the members frequently rotate between various instruments mid-song. The group has a history of collaborating with Sigur Rós both in the studio and on stage.
