Intro

Another Sky sounds like a storm rolling in over a concrete landscape. It is anchored by Catrin Vincent's extraordinary voice, which occupies a deep, rich register that often leaves first-time listeners questioning its origin. The music around her is a complex web of interlocking guitar lines and heavy, precise drumming that feels both mathematically planned and emotionally raw. It is art-rock with a jagged, post-punk edge.

What makes them truly distinctive is the tension between the technicality of their playing and the sheer vulnerability of the performance. They use silence and space as effectively as they use volume, often building from a whispered, brittle intimacy to a massive, wall-of-sound crescendo. The lyrics are unflinching, tackling everything from toxic masculinity to the suffocating nature of modern work culture with a poetic, almost surgical precision.

Start with their debut album, 'I Slept On The Floor.' It perfectly captures their ability to blend beautiful, crystalline melodies with a sense of underlying unease. If you want something more aggressive, the tracks on 'Beach Day' showcase a band leaning into their heavier, more progressive tendencies without losing the haunting atmosphere that defines them.

Another Sky were an English progressive rock band formed in London with their debut show in 2017 by Catrin Vincent, Max Doohan, Naomi Le Dune, and Jack Gilbert while they were all studying music. Vincent's unique singing voice is often mentioned in reviews, including for their released their debut album, I Slept On the Floor, in 2020. They have followed their debut up with an EP, Music For Winter Vol. I, in 2021, and their second album, Beach Day, in 2024. The band announced their split in April 2025, with the intention of releasing an EP, titled “Mirror”, as their final release.
