Hard-hitting French rap with deep Antillean roots. Gritty, rhythmic storytelling from the heart of the Paris suburbs for late-night city movement.
AP du 113 delivers a quintessential French rap experience that is deeply rooted in the '90s and 2000s golden era of the Paris suburbs. His sound is characterized by a heavy, rhythmic bounce that reflects his Guadeloupean heritage, often blending classic boom-bap foundations with subtle Caribbean syncopation. It is music that feels industrial and concrete, yet possesses a human warmth through its soulful sampling and baritone delivery.
What sets AP apart is his position as a bridge between the collective energy of Mafia K-1 Fry and a more personal, observational solo style. His flow is steady and authoritative, avoiding flashy gimmicks in favor of a grounded, reportage-style lyricism. The production often features thick basslines and crisp snare hits that demand a high-quality sound system to fully appreciate the low-end textures.
Listeners should start with the album 'Discret' to hear AP at his most refined. It captures the transition from the raw energy of his early group work to a more sophisticated, cinematic solo vision. It is the perfect entry point for anyone wanting to understand the sonic DNA of Vitry-sur-Seine hip-hop.
