Crystalline Spanish guitar melodies meets smooth Mediterranean rhythms. Sophisticated, romantic, and technically dazzling instrumental music for elegant evenings.
Armik's music is the sonic equivalent of a high-end Mediterranean resort at dusk. It is built around the incredible dexterity of his nylon-string guitar work, which manages to be both lightning-fast and remarkably gentle. The production is always immaculate, with every pluck and slide captured in high definition, often bathed in a sophisticated studio glow that softens the edges of traditional flamenco's grit.
What sets him apart is the 'Nuevo' in his flamenco. He strips away the harsh, guttural vocals and stomping percussion of purist styles, replacing them with smooth jazz sensibilities and light Latin pop rhythms. It is music that celebrates beauty and technical perfection over raw pain, making it incredibly accessible and consistently uplifting. His Iranian-Armenian heritage occasionally peeks through in subtle melodic choices that feel slightly more exotic than standard Spanish fare.
Start with 'Gypsy Flame' to hear him at his commercial and creative peak. It perfectly encapsulates his ability to blend virtuosic soloing with melodies that feel instantly familiar and deeply comforting. It is the definitive soundtrack for anyone who wants the passion of the guitar without the aggression of the dance floor.
Armik is an Iranian-Armenian American New Flamenco guitarist, producer and composer. His music blends Spanish guitar scales with flamenco improvisation, Latin jazz rhythms, and classical elements. Several of Armik's albums have reached Billboard's Top New Age Albums chart. Born in Iran of Armenian descent, Armik showed an early talent for music. At the age of seven, he pawned his watch to buy a classical guitar, which he hid and practiced on in the basement. By nine, Armik had completed formal music lessons as well as a rigid instructional regimen. At the age of 12, he was a professional recording artist. In 1981, Armik moved to Los Angeles, where he performed with various artists before launching his solo career in 1994 with the album Rain Dancer. His second album, Gypsy Flame, helped establish him in the emerging New Flamenco genre. In 2002, Armik founded his own record label, Bolero Records. His latest album, Mi Pasion (2026 Remaster/Remix), was released in January 2026.
