Athena is the definitive Turkish ska-punk band, founded in 1987 by twin brothers Gökhan and Hakan Özoğuz. Their sound identity is characterized by the 'Athena Horns,' a tight brass section that provides melodic counterpoints to aggressive punk riffing. They represented Turkey in the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest with 'For Real,' finishing fourth and showcasing their ability to blend punk aesthetics with broad pop appeal.
