Intro

Attaque 77 delivers a quintessential Latin American punk experience that evolved from raw, three-chord aggression into a sophisticated, melodic rock force. Their sound is defined by driving down-stroke guitar rhythms, heavy bass lines, and choruses designed to be shouted by thousands of people at once. There is a distinct warmth to their grit, a sense of community and shared struggle that makes their music feel like a neighborhood anthem rather than just a noise assault.

What sets them apart is their lyrical depth and ideological consistency. While they started as Ramones devotees in denim jackets, they grew into a band that tackled animal rights, factory exploitation, and heartbreak with equal sincerity. They managed to bridge the gap between the underground punk scene and mainstream radio without losing their edge, creating a 'punk for the people' that resonates across generations in Argentina.

Start with 'El Cielo Puede Esperar' to hear them at their breakthrough peak, or dive into 'Antihumano' for a more polished, alternative-leaning take on their signature rebellion. Both albums showcase their ability to turn social frustration into infectious, high-energy music.

Attaque 77 ("Attack 77"), sometimes stylized as A77aque, is an Argentine punk rock group. The band was formed in 1987 as a group of friends who got together to play their favorite songs, most of them by The Ramones, their favorite band and the one that influenced them the most. They started writing songs in the same punk rock style, with lyrics with proletarian content (about exploited factory workers, etc.), and wore denim jackets, which became one of their hallmarks in their beginnings. Currently, only three members continue performing and recording.
