Audio Soul Project

Audio Soul Project is the primary creative outlet for Chicago-based producer Mazi Namvar, a central figure in the second wave of Chicago house. Emerging in the late 1990s, the project bridged the gap between traditional soulful house and the emerging tech-house movement.

Namvar's sound identity is defined by a sophisticated use of syncopation, analog synthesis, and a deep appreciation for jazz and funk structures. His 2001 debut album, 'Community', released on the influential NRK Sound Division label, is widely considered a landmark of the era, praised for its atmospheric depth and rhythmic complexity. Throughout his career, Namvar has maintained a prolific output, balancing underground credibility with high-profile remix work for artists like Marshall Jefferson and Nick Holder.
