Azarath

Azarath is a cornerstone of the second wave of Polish extreme metal, formed in 1998 by Zbigniew 'Inferno' Promiński. While often overshadowed by Inferno's primary band, Behemoth, Azarath serves as a more uncompromising, underground outlet for pure blackened death metal.

Their sound identity is built on 'infernal blasting' - a relentless percussive assault characterized by extreme BPMs and technical precision. Unlike the more theatrical evolution of their peers, Azarath has maintained a gritty, blasphemous aesthetic that favors sonic density over symphonic elements. Throughout their career, spanning from the raw 'Demon Seed' to the more polished 'Saint Desecration', they have remained a critical favorite for their refusal to dilute their aggression. They occupy a specific niche in the 'Polish sound' alongside Vader and Hate, but are distinguished by a more pronounced black metal influence in their tremolo-heavy guitar work and lyrical themes.
