Bingo Players

Bingo Players, originally a duo consisting of Paul Bäumer and Maarten Hoogstraten, emerged from the Netherlands as pivotal figures in the global EDM explosion of the late 2000s and early 2010s. Their sound identity is rooted in 'dirty house' and electro house, characterized by aggressive sawtooth lead synths, heavy sidechain compression, and a distinctive use of vocal sampling.

The project reached its commercial and critical zenith with the 2011-2012 releases 'Cry (Just a Little)' and 'Rattle', the latter of which became a UK Number 1 hit. Following Paul Bäumer's tragic passing from cancer in 2013, Hoogstraten has continued the project as a solo act, honoring Bäumer's wish to keep the Bingo Players name alive. Their influence is felt across the 'Big Room' house scene, bridging the gap between the gritty textures of early Dutch house and the polished pop-sensibilities of modern festival EDM. They are frequently associated with the Hysteria Records label and are respected for their technical consistency and ability to craft enduring club anthems.
