Gritty, high-energy rock that balances post-hardcore aggression with massive pop-punk hooks. Cathartic anthems for restless nights and long drives.
Can't Swim sounds like the precise moment a quiet frustration boils over into a loud, distorted reality. Their music is built on a foundation of thick, driving basslines and guitars that alternate between sharp, staccato rhythms and wide-open melodic chords. There is a physical weight to the production, especially in the drums, which feel like they are hitting just a fraction harder than your average pop-punk record.
What truly sets them apart is Chris LoPorto's vocal delivery. It carries a distinctive, gravelly texture that feels lived-in and honest, moving from a melodic croon to a strained, passionate rasp without ever losing the hook. They have a unique ability to take the structural tropes of 2000s emo and infuse them with the raw, unpolished energy of the New Jersey hardcore scene, resulting in songs that are as catchy as they are bruising.
Start with the 'Death Deserves a Name' EP to hear the band at their most immediate and raw. From there, move to 'Fail You Again' for a more polished take on their signature sound, or dive into 'Foreign Language' if you want to hear them lean into their heaviest, most experimental impulses.
