Intro

Canon’s music is a high-octane collision of technical skill and spiritual conviction. It sounds like a blur of syllables delivered with the precision of a metronome, backed by the booming low-end of modern trap and the shimmering synths of Chicago’s electronic-influenced hip-hop scene. The energy is consistently high, designed to push the listener forward through sheer momentum and vocal dexterity.

What sets him apart is the 'chopper' style, a rapid-fire delivery method that few can sustain with such clarity. While many artists in the Christian hip-hop space focus on melody or boom-bap nostalgia, Canon leans into the aggressive, technical side of the genre. His tracks often feature complex internal rhyme schemes and sudden shifts in tempo that keep the listener on edge, mirroring the urgency of his lyrical themes.

Start with 'Loose Canon, Vol. 2' to hear him at his commercial and creative peak. It showcases his ability to balance radio-ready hooks with the dizzying speed that earned him his reputation. If you want something more recent and refined, 'Good To Go, Pt. 2' offers a more mature perspective without sacrificing the explosive energy that defines his sound.

Aaron Marcellis McCain (born March 1, 1989), better known by his stage name Canon, is an American Christian rapper from Chicago, Illinois. Canon is best known for his appearance on Lecrae's Rehab: The Overdose and his collaboration with Derek Minor then from Reach Records. Canon also was mentored by Lecrae who then took Canon on the road with him to be his full-time hype-man. After touring with Lecrae, Canon signed with Reflection Music Group and recorded his first EP entitled Loose Canon which was released in 2012. In 2014, Canon experience his first taste of success by reaching the Billboard 200 charts with the release of "Loose Canon, Volume 2." After a near-death accident, Canon was out for a long time, until 2016 when he released several singles and the third volume of his Loose Canon series.
