Initially influenced by the raw, atmospheric hardcore of bands like Defeater and More Than Life, their early work focused on high-speed d-beats and dissonant, emotive guitar work.
As they progressed, particularly on their 2016 sophomore LP, they integrated significant influences from the 2004-2006 era of emo and post-hardcore, adopting the melodic sensibilities of groups like Underoath and The Used. This shift brought them significant critical attention for their ability to modernize a classic sound. However, the band's trajectory was abruptly halted in 2019 following serious allegations of sexual misconduct against founding members, leading to their immediate dissolution and removal from the touring circuit. Their legacy remains a polarizing mix of influential sonic development and a sudden, disgraced exit from the scene.
