Carlito is the third major musical persona of Swedish performer Jonny Jakobsen, following his massive international success as Dr. Bombay (an Indian caricature) and Dr.

Macdoo (a Scottish caricature). Launched in 2005, the Carlito project focuses on a fictionalized Mexican character, blending Eurodance, bubblegum pop, and Latin-inspired melodic motifs. While the project faced criticism for its reliance on cultural stereotypes, it achieved significant commercial success, particularly in Japan where the 'Dancemania' series popularized the high-BPM Euro-pop sound.
