Nicholas Bracegirdle, professionally known as Chicane, is an English electronic musician, composer, and producer. He gained prominence with influential trance tracks including the Ibiza staple Offshore, the Clannad-assisted Saltwater, and the international chart-topper Don't Give Up featuring Bryan Adams. His 1997 debut, Far from the Maddening Crowds, remains a seminal trance release, while his follow-up, Behind the Sun, achieved gold status in the UK. He continues to release independent studio albums.
