Communic

Communic emerged from the Norwegian metal scene in 2003, founded by former members of Scariot. While Norway is often synonymous with black metal, Communic carved out a niche in the progressive power metal sector, quickly gaining international attention with their 2004 demo.

Their sound is characterized by a unique 'power trio' approach to progressive metal, utilizing Erik Mortensen's prominent, melodic bass lines to fill the sonic space usually reserved for second guitars or heavy keyboards. This creates a raw yet sophisticated texture. Their career arc is defined by a consistent partnership with producer Jacob Hansen, who helped define their 'modern classic' sound: punchy, clear, and emotionally resonant. Critically, they are often compared to Nevermore and Psychotic Waltz due to their dark lyrical themes and technical proficiency.
