High-octane hardcore that collides New York grit with West Coast thrash. Aggressive, groove-heavy anthems for the gym or the pit.
Cruel Hand sounds like the precise moment a mosh pit reaches critical mass. It is a muscular, high-velocity brand of hardcore that borrows the technical precision of thrash metal and the raw, confrontational energy of the 80s New York scene. The guitars are thick and metallic, alternating between lightning-fast alternate picking and heavy, floor-shaking breakdowns that feel designed to move a room.
What sets them apart is their ability to balance sheer aggression with a sense of groove and songwriting craft. While many of their peers lean into chaotic noise, Cruel Hand maintains a rhythmic discipline that makes their music feel focused and intentional. The vocals are a rhythmic bark, delivered with a grit that sounds lived-in and authentic, often touching on themes of personal struggle and resilience.
Start with 'Lock & Key' to hear the band at their most iconic. It captures the perfect intersection of their punk roots and their metal leanings, offering a masterclass in modern hardcore dynamics that works just as well on a long drive as it does in a sweaty basement show.
