Cytotoxin

Cytotoxin is a German technical brutal death metal band formed in 2010 in Chemnitz. They have carved out a unique niche within the extreme metal scene by centering their entire aesthetic and lyrical output on the 1986 Chernobyl disaster.

Musically, they are defined by extreme technical proficiency, characterized by Jason Melidonie's hyper-speed sweep picking and Maximilian Panzer's mechanized drumming. Their sound sits at the intersection of the 'New Standard' of technical death metal (pioneered by acts like Archspire) and the rhythmic 'slam' elements of brutal death metal. Over five albums, they have evolved from the raw aggression of 'Plutonium Heaven' to the high-fidelity, complex arrangements of 'Nuklearth' and 'Biographyte.'
