Intro

Daniel Kandi delivers the kind of music that feels like a physical ascent. It is built on the classic foundations of uplifting trance: driving 138 BPM percussion, rolling basslines, and massive, emotional breakdowns that resolve into soaring, melodic climaxes. The sound is bright, polished, and unapologetically optimistic, favoring crystalline synth textures and wide, cinematic soundscapes that aim for the rafters of a stadium.

What sets Kandi apart is his precision and melodic sensibility. While many in the genre lean into aggression, his work maintains a certain elegance. He often utilizes delicate piano interludes or plucked arpeggios that provide a human touch amidst the wall of electronic sound. His production is characterized by a signature 'Anjunabeats' clarity, where every layer of the supersaw lead is distinct and every white-noise sweep serves a structural purpose.

Start with 'Breathe' to understand his foundational impact on the 2000s trance scene. It captures the essence of his style: a patient build-up followed by a melody that feels like a deep exhale. From there, move to 'Child' or his more recent '20 Years of Anjunabeats' retrospective to hear how he has refined this high-energy, emotional blueprint over two decades.

Daniel Kandi (born 29 November 1983) is a Danish trance producer and DJ currently living in Aalborg, Denmark. Kandi entered the trance scene with the release of "Breathe" in 2006, on the highly successful Anjunabeats label. In 2010, he was ranked #77 in DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJ Poll. He is also an amateur snooker player.
