Daydream

Daydream is a significant side project of the prolific Dutch DJ and producer Robin Albers, most widely recognized for his global hit 'Plastic Dreams' under the moniker Jaydee. While Jaydee leaned into more melodic and atmospheric house, Daydream served as a vehicle for Albers to explore the grittier, more rhythmic side of the electronic spectrum during the mid-1990s.

Released primarily on the First Impression label, the Daydream catalog is characterized by its use of heavy analog sequencing, tribal-influenced percussion, and a raw, warehouse-ready aesthetic. The project sits at the intersection of Dutch House and the emerging European Techno scene, often incorporating acid basslines and aggressive synth stabs that were hallmarks of the era's underground club culture.
