Debauchery

Founded in 2000 in Stuttgart, Germany, Debauchery is the primary vehicle for Thomas Gurrath. The band carved a niche within the 'Death 'n' Roll' subgenre, heavily influenced by the mid-period work of Six Feet Under and the straightforward rock structures of AC/DC.

Their sound is characterized by a rejection of the 'arms race' of technical death metal in favor of rhythmic simplicity, low-tuned chugging, and guttural vocals. Over two decades, Gurrath has expanded the project into a multi-band 'Trinity of Blood' universe, including the projects Balgeroth and Blood God, often focusing on themes of war, monsters, and Warhammer 40,000 lore. Critically, they are viewed as a polarizing force: lauded by fans for their catchy, high-energy live shows and consistent aesthetic, while sometimes dismissed by purists for their simplicity.
