Intro

Debbie Davies delivers a masterclass in the electric blues, characterized by a guitar tone that is both sharp and deeply resonant. Her playing carries the 'stinging' legacy of her mentor Albert Collins, but she infuses it with a soulful, feminine perspective that was revolutionary when she first emerged. The music feels lived-in, smelling of old wood and tube amplifiers, balancing technical precision with the raw emotional honesty required of the genre.

What truly sets Davies apart is her rhythmic pocket and her ability to lead a band with authority. Her solos aren't just displays of speed; they are melodic conversations that build tension and release with expert timing. Her vocals have a pleasant rasp, the sound of a veteran who has spent decades on the road, providing a perfect counterpoint to the bright, metallic chime of her Fender Stratocaster.

Start with 'I Got That Feeling' to hear her at her commercial and creative peak. It showcases her ability to blend traditional blues structures with a contemporary rock edge, making it an ideal entry point for anyone who appreciates high-caliber guitar work and authentic storytelling.
