Doedsvangr

Doedsvangr is a multinational black metal entity that functions as a supergroup of sorts, featuring members from prominent acts like Tsjuder, Horna, and Behexen. Formed in 2014, the project bridges the gap between the raw, traditional Norwegian black metal sound and the more technical, dissonant styles emerging from the French and Finnish scenes.

Their sound identity is defined by high-tempo aggression, precise musicianship, and a thematic focus on the occult and primordial darkness. Their debut, 'Satan ov Suns', established them as a force in the underground, while their move to the prestigious Debemur Morti Productions for 'Serpents ov Old' signaled a shift toward a more complex and atmospheric approach. Critically, they are praised for maintaining the 'true' black metal spirit while utilizing modern production standards to enhance the clarity of their sonic violence. They occupy a unique space as a bridge between the second wave and contemporary orthodox black metal.
