Dougal (Paul Arnold Clarke) and Gammer (Matt Lee) are a seminal duo in the UK Hardcore scene, primarily associated with the Essential Platinum label. Dougal, a veteran of the early 90s rave scene, joined forces with the younger, technically-minded Gammer in the early 2000s, creating a partnership that would redefine the genre's sound for over a decade.

Their sound identity is characterized by 160-180 BPM tempos, 'supersaw' synth leads, and a heavy reliance on the 'offbeat' bass style that became a hallmark of the UK Hardcore sound. Throughout their career, they transitioned from the breakbeat-heavy roots of hardcore into a more streamlined, four-to-the-floor style that incorporated elements of trance and hard dance. Their cultural position is that of 'Hardcore Legends,' having won numerous industry awards and maintaining a presence on major festival stages like EDC.
