Delicate, breathy vocals floating over minimalist electronic pulses. Indietronica that feels like a soft morning light or a quiet conversation in a rainy city.
Entre Ríos creates a sound that is both intimate and expansive, like a secret whispered in a large, empty room. Their music is defined by the contrast between cold, precise electronic programming and the warm, human vulnerability of breathy female vocals. It is the sound of early 2000s Buenos Aires looking toward the future while holding onto a deeply rooted sense of melancholy.
What makes them truly distinctive is their restraint. While their contemporaries in the electropop scene often aimed for the dancefloor, Entre Ríos mastered the art of the 'soft' pop song. They use digital glitches and synthetic textures not as noise, but as delicate embroidery, creating a sonic landscape that feels liquid and translucent.
Start with the album 'Idioma suave' to experience their peak indietronica sound. It perfectly captures the balance of electronic experimentation and pop accessibility that influenced an entire generation of Latin American artists. It is the ideal soundtrack for moments of quiet reflection or solitary urban exploration.
Entre Ríos is an Argentine indietronica band originally formed in Buenos Aires by Sebastián Carreras, Gabriel Lucena and Isol (Marisol Misenta) in 2000. They became popular when the song "Hoy no" was used in a Quilmes spot. In 2005 Isol left the group the release of their album Onda. She was replaced by Paula Meijide, who was part of the band until 2006. In 2008, Rosario Ortega and Romina Dangelo joined Entre Ríos as the vocalist and drummer respectively. They have performed many gigs around Spain and Latin America, and were a big influence for other groups such as Miranda! and Belanova.
