Errorsmith

Errorsmith is the alias of Berlin-based producer Erik Wiegand, a pivotal figure in electronic music who bridges the gap between functional club music and experimental sound design. Since the late 1990s, Wiegand has been a pioneer in the use of custom-built digital tools, most notably his work with Native Instruments to develop the 'Razor' synthesizer. His sound identity is characterized by extreme digital clarity, FM synthesis, and a unique 'elastic' rhythmic sensibility that deconstructs disco and house tropes into brittle, high-definition glitch-funk.

His career is marked by long gaps between solo releases, during which he influenced the scene through collaborations (notably as MMM with Fiedel and Smith n Hack with Soundstream). His 2017 album, 'Superlative Fatigue,' was a critical landmark, revitalizing the 'deconstructed club' movement by injecting it with a sense of playfulness and rhythmic sophistication that countered the era's trend toward industrial gloom.
