EVAN, the stage name for Yoo Ho-suk, represents a significant stylistic pivot in the first-generation K-pop landscape. After debuting as a member of the idol group Click-B in 1999, Yoo departed the group to study at the New School University in New York, where he immersed himself in jazz and contemporary music.

This education fundamentally reshaped his sonic identity. Upon returning to the industry in 2007 under TN Entertainment, he rebranded as EVAN, moving away from the rock-dance hybrid of his former group toward a sophisticated R&B and ballad-focused sound.
