This linguistic choice, rather than limiting their appeal, provided a sense of authenticity that resonated across the Low Countries. Their 2007 single 'Kvraagetaan' became a historic success, spending 16 weeks at the top of the Belgian charts by tapping into a collective nostalgia for the 1980s and 90s. While often categorized as pop or alternative rock, their DNA includes the laid-back acoustic vibes of Jack Johnson and the rhythmic storytelling of Flip Kowlier. Over subsequent albums like 'Superheld' and 'Weeral halfacht', the band evolved toward a more polished chamber-pop sound while maintaining their signature lyrical focus on the mundane and the monumental moments of everyday life.
