Forgotten

Forgotten is a cornerstone of the Indonesian extreme metal scene, specifically the influential Ujungberung community in Bandung. Formed in 1994, they were early pioneers of the 'Bandung Death Metal' sound, characterized by a blend of technical proficiency and raw, DIY production values.

Their 2001 release 'Tuhan Telah Mati' remains one of the most controversial and culturally significant metal records in Indonesia, challenging religious and social norms. Over decades, the band has survived numerous lineup changes, including members from other heavyweights like Burgerkill, which has helped maintain their status as a supergroup of sorts within the local scene. Their sound identity is built on high-velocity blast beats, chromatic riffing, and a misanthropic lyrical outlook. Critically, they are respected for their longevity and their refusal to polish their sound for mainstream appeal, remaining a primary influence for the next generation of Southeast Asian brutal death metal acts.
