Intro

Fuse ODG creates music that feels like a shot of pure sunlight. It is a vibrant, high-energy fusion of Afrobeats, UK pop, and dancehall that prioritizes rhythm and infectious hooks above all else. The sound is defined by sharp, syncopated percussion and bright synthesizer melodies that practically demand the listener to move. It is the sound of a global party where the borders between the UK and West Africa completely dissolve.

What makes him distinctive is his 'T.I.N.A.' (This Is New Africa) philosophy, which injects a sense of cultural pride and mission into what could otherwise be standard club music. His tracks often feature instructional dance elements or call-and-response sections that turn a solitary listen into a communal experience. The production is crisp and modern, blending the grit of London's urban scene with the polyrhythmic complexity of Ghanaian highlife and hiplife.

Start with the album 'T.I.N.A.' to hear him at his commercial and creative peak. Tracks like 'Antenna' and 'Dangerous Love' showcase his ability to craft massive pop hits that maintain a distinct West African soul. It is the perfect entry point for anyone looking to understand how Afrobeats conquered the global charts in the 2010s.

Nana Richard Abiona (born 2 December 1988), better known by his stage name Fuse ODG, is a Ghanaian-English singer, songwriter and rapper. He came to attention with his first Top-10 song on the UK singles chart, "Antenna" (#7 in 2013), and for his second last Top-10 on that chart, "Dangerous Love" (#3 in 2014). He also featured on Major Lazer's "Light It Up (Remix)", which reached No. 73 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 2016. In addition to his musical career he is a vocal proponent of people of African descent learning about Africa and has launched a subscription-based educational app "School of new Africa" for the purpose.
