Geordie

Geordie was a pivotal British rock band formed in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1972, primarily remembered today as the launchpad for vocalist Brian Johnson. Musically, they occupied a unique space between the commercial glam rock of Slade and Sweet and the harder-edged blues-rock of Nazareth.

Their sound was characterized by Vic Malcolm's riff-heavy songwriting and Johnson's distinctive, gravelly vocal delivery, which would later define the sound of AC/DC's Back in Black era. During their peak in the early 1970s, they were a fixture on UK television programs like Top of the Pops, achieving several chart hits including 'All Because of You' and 'Can You Do It'. Despite their success, they struggled to maintain momentum as the decade progressed and musical tastes shifted toward punk and new wave, eventually disbanding in 1979.
