Ghost Twin

Ghost Twin is a Canadian dark electronic duo consisting of filmmakers and musicians Karen and Jaimz Asmundson. Formed in Winnipeg in 2013, the project is deeply rooted in a multidisciplinary approach, blending music with live video percussion and occult-inspired visual art.

Their sound identity is characterized by a 'haunting vocal dichotomy' where operatic, baroque-influenced female vocals contrast with darker, more industrial male counterparts. Musically, they occupy the space between darkwave, synth-pop, and post-punk, utilizing roaring synthlines and dirty, pulsing bass to create a cinematic atmosphere. Their career arc shows a steady evolution from the raw, experimental textures of their early work like 'Fire of the Mind' to the more polished, narrative-driven compositions found on 'Candle' and 'Industrial Symphony No. 1'. Critically, they are noted for their ability to evoke a sense of 'astral phantasms' and 'shadowy haunted rooms,' positioning them as a key act in the modern darkwave scene alongside peers like Hante. and Kælan Mikla.
