GLOK

GLOK is the electronic alter-ego of Andy Bell, best known as the guitarist for shoegaze icons Ride and former bassist for Oasis. Launched initially as an anonymous project to avoid the 'middle-aged guitarist' stigma, GLOK allows Bell to explore his long-standing interests in Krautrock, Detroit techno, and Balearic house.

The project's sound identity is defined by a 'motorik' rhythmic sensibility, heavy use of analog synthesizers, and a production style that emphasizes hypnotic repetition and slow-build dynamics. Bell's background in shoegaze is evident in the textural density and melodic richness of the tracks, which often feature subtle guitar licks treated as rhythmic or atmospheric elements.
