Heartland is a British melodic hard rock (AOR) band formed in 1990 by vocalist Chris Ousey, formerly of Virginia Wolf. Despite debuting in 1991 as the musical landscape shifted toward grunge, the band became a cornerstone of the European melodic rock scene.
Their sound is characterized by Ousey's 'voice of AOR' - a powerful, soulful tenor - and the sophisticated songwriting partnership with guitarist Steve Morris.
