Ho99o9 (Horror) emerged from the Newark, New Jersey underground as a radical synthesis of the city's hip-hop roots and the confrontational spirit of hardcore punk. Formed by theOGM and Yeti Bones, the duo moved to Los Angeles in 2014, where their sound evolved into a more sophisticated but no less aggressive form of industrial hip-hop.

Their aesthetic is heavily informed by grindhouse cinema and transgressive art, utilizing shock and volume as tools for social commentary. Critically, they are often positioned alongside acts like Death Grips and Black Flag, though they maintain a unique lane by leaning harder into thrash and horrorcore elements. Their career arc shows a steady progression from lo-fi, sample-heavy EPs to studio-polished industrial monoliths like 'SKIN', which featured collaborations with Corey Taylor and Travis Barker. They occupy a vital space in the 'Afropunk' movement, challenging both the sonic and cultural expectations of what black artists in the alternative space should sound like.
