Hysteria

Hysteria is a long-standing fixture of the Chilean extreme metal underground, formed in 1989 during a pivotal era for South American metal. Their sound is a synthesis of death metal, thrash, and hardcore punk, characterized by a raw, DIY production aesthetic that prioritizes energy over polish.

Unlike the more technical or 'brutal' death metal acts from Europe or North America, Hysteria maintains a rhythmic connection to d-beat and early thrash, making their music feel more grounded in street-level rebellion than occult fantasy.
