Iné kafe

Iné kafe (often stylized as Inekafe) is a cornerstone of the Slovak alternative rock scene, specifically pioneering the pop punk explosion in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Formed in Bratislava in 1995, the band evolved from a raw, demo-heavy punk outfit into a multi-platinum commercial powerhouse.

Their sound identity is characterized by the 'California' skate-punk aesthetic - influenced heavily by bands like Bad Religion and Blink-182 - but localized through Slovak lyrics and a slightly more melancholic, Eastern European melodic sensibility. Frontman Vratko Rohoň has remained the sole constant through numerous lineup changes and a notable hiatus in 2006 when he famously left the music industry to become a commercial pilot.
