Intro

Interface delivers a sound that feels like the intersection of a rain-slicked cyberpunk city and a high-energy European dance club. It is music defined by its precision: sharp digital synths, driving EBM rhythms, and a sense of scale that feels both intimate and cinematic. While it carries the weight of industrial music, it swaps the usual distortion for a shimmering, high-definition clarity that allows the melodies to breathe.

What truly sets the project apart is the way Eric Eldredge weaves trance-influenced arpeggios and synth-pop song structures into a darker, more mechanical framework. The vocals are often smooth and melodic, providing a human anchor to the dense, machine-driven arrangements. It is a sound that prioritizes movement and emotional resonance over pure aggression, making it accessible without losing its underground edge.

For those new to the project, the mid-2000s era represents the peak of their club-focused sound. It is the perfect starting point for anyone who enjoys the rhythmic drive of VNV Nation but wants a bit more of a classic synth-pop melodic sensibility. It is music for the moments when you want to feel the pulse of the machine.

Interface is an electronic music group based on Long Island, New York. It was founded in 1993 by Eric Eldredge (keyboards, sequences, and vocals). Its career has been lined with a steady output of songs and dance remixes for other artists and several lineup shifts. Each of its three albums to date display a blend of various styles of electronic music, most notably trance, synthpop, electro-industrial and aggrotech, with a strong sense of melody and songwriting.
