Uncanny art pop where deadpan baritone vocals meet brittle orchestral glitches. It sounds like a classical concert hall being slowly reclaimed by a computer virus.
Jerskin Fendrix creates music that feels like a beautiful error. It is a collision between the grand traditions of European classical music and the fractured, hyper-modern reality of the internet age. His sound is defined by a deep, resonant baritone that delivers lyrics with a mix of profound sincerity and ironic detachment, often backed by arrangements that sound like they are shivering or slightly broken.
What truly sets him apart is his use of 'wrongness' as a primary aesthetic tool. He employs detuned strings, sudden digital stutters, and rhythmic gaps that force the listener to lean in. It is music that captures the specific anxiety of being alive right now, where high culture and low-bitrate memes occupy the same mental space. It is theatrical, occasionally abrasive, but always deeply human.
Start with 'Winterreise' to hear his unique blend of singer-songwriter intimacy and avant-garde electronics. For those coming from his film work, his score for 'Poor Things' offers a more whimsical but equally twisted entry point into his singular sonic world.
