Kassidy

Kassidy emerged from the Glasgow music scene in 2009, quickly distinguishing themselves through a unique four-part harmony approach that blended indie-folk sensibilities with a rugged rock edge. Comprised of Barrie-James O'Neill, Hamish Fingland, Lewis Andrew, and Chris Potter, the group's sound was heavily influenced by their decision to convert a shared residence into a personal recording studio, resulting in a signature 'room sound' that favored analog warmth and organic textures.

Their debut album, 'Hope St.' (2011), solidified their position within the UK indie-folk revival, though they maintained a grittier, more guitar-driven aesthetic than contemporaries like Mumford & Sons. The band's trajectory was notably marked by their association with Lana Del Rey, with whom O'Neill had a high-profile relationship and collaboration. This connection brought them to larger European stages, though the band eventually dissolved following O'Neill's departure for Los Angeles in 2014. Critically, they are remembered for their vocal arrangements and their ability to bridge the gap between traditional folk storytelling and alternative rock dynamics.
