Intro

King Los sounds like a man who has mastered every gear of the human voice. His delivery is a masterclass in breath control and rhythmic precision, often shifting from a conversational mid-tempo to a dizzying, machine-gun double time without losing a shred of clarity. The production usually leans into the grandiosity of mid-2010s hip-hop, featuring crisp drums and soulful samples that provide a sturdy foundation for his vocal acrobatics.

What truly sets Los apart is his 'pen.' He is widely regarded as one of the most technically proficient rappers of his generation, a reputation earned through legendary radio freestyles and a stint as a high-level ghostwriter. His music is dense with internal rhymes, metaphors that require multiple listens to unpack, and a spiritual, almost philosophical undercurrent that elevates his street narratives into something more existential.

Start with 'God, Money, War' to hear his most cohesive studio vision. It balances his competitive fire with a vulnerability that explores the tensions of his Baltimore upbringing. For those who want to hear him at his most raw and competitive, his 'G.O.A.T.' mixtape or any of his L.A. Leakers freestyles showcase why he is feared by other emcees.

Carlos Coleman, better known by his stage name King Los or simply Los, is an American rapper and songwriter from Baltimore, Maryland. He is best known for his affiliation with American rapper Puff Daddy, having frequently served as his ghostwriter and been signed to his label, Bad Boy Records from 2005 until 2008. Coleman re-signed to the label in February 2012, although he departed once more in March 2014. His debut studio album, God, Money, War (2015), was released by RCA Records and entered the Billboard 200; Puff Daddy executive produced the album.
