Kirk

Kirk is a Polish experimental trio consisting of Paweł Bartnik, Olgierd Dokalski, and Filip Kalinowski. Emerging from the Warsaw underground, the group occupies a unique niche between nu jazz, illbient, and abstract hip-hop.

Their sound identity is defined by the interplay between Dokalski's expressive, often 'breathing' trumpet and a foundation of dusty, lo-fi electronics and turntable scratches. This configuration allows them to bridge the gap between the free-form improvisation of jazz and the technical, sample-heavy precision of modern electronic music. Critically, they are noted for their 'sound continuum' approach to live performance, where compositions are constantly deformed and rebuilt in real-time.
