Hazy, breathy vocals floating over shimmering synth-pop and cloud rap beats. Intimate bedroom electronics for late-night scrolling and digital nostalgia.
Kitty’s music feels like the soft glow of a laptop screen in a dark room. It is intimate, often whispered, and deeply rooted in the aesthetics of the early 2010s internet culture. Her sound evolved from the 'cloud rap' movement into a sophisticated, self-produced blend of synth-pop and electronic music that retains a sense of DIY vulnerability.
What makes her distinctive is the juxtaposition of her delicate, breathy vocal delivery with sharp, often ironic or hyper-specific lyrical observations. She treats the voice as a textural element, often burying it in layers of reverb and shimmering synths, creating a gauzy atmosphere that feels both inviting and slightly detached.
Start with 'Miami Garden Club' to hear her transition into lush 80s-inspired pop, or revisit 'D.A.I.S.Y. rage' for the definitive example of her early, internet-breaking rap style. Her work is essential for anyone who finds beauty in the intersection of pop melody and lo-fi electronic experimentation.
