Intro

Listening to Kuniyuki Takahashi feels like watching a high-definition time-lapse of a forest growing in the middle of a neon-lit metropolis. His music possesses a rare, fluid quality where the rigid grids of house and techno dissolve into something much more biological. There is a profound sense of space and patience in his arrangements, often anchored by warm, round basslines and punctuated by delicate, hand-played percussion that sounds like it was recorded in a cathedral or a deep wood.

What truly sets Kuniyuki apart is his background as a multi-instrumentalist and sound engineer. He doesn't just program beats; he performs them. You can hear the physical touch in his synth leads, which often veer into jazz-inflected improvisations that feel spontaneous and alive. Whether he is exploring the dubby depths of his 'Forth' alias or the ambient expanses of 'Koss', there is a consistent 'Kuniyuki' signature: a shimmering, liquid texture that makes even his most electronic tracks feel deeply human.

For those new to his massive catalog, 'All These Things' or 'Feather World' are the perfect entry points. These albums showcase his ability to bridge the gap between the dancefloor and the meditation mat. It is music for people who want the rhythmic reliability of deep house but crave the emotional complexity and instrumental richness of avant-garde jazz.
