Intro

Lisa Lynne creates a sonic environment that feels like a deep, cleansing breath. Her music is centered around the Celtic harp, an instrument she treats with both technical precision and a profound sense of emotional space. The sound is crystalline and pure, often accompanied by gentle acoustic guitars or soft woodwinds that never crowd the primary melody. It is music that avoids the synthetic sheen of some new age peers, opting instead for the organic warmth of wood and string.

What distinguishes Lynne is the therapeutic quality of her compositions. Having pioneered music programs in hospitals, she understands how to use frequency and rhythm to lower the listener's heart rate. There is a deliberate lack of friction in her work; the melodies flow into one another with a liquid grace that feels both ancient and immediate. It is less about 'performance' and more about creating a state of being.

For those new to her catalog, the 1998 classic 'Daughters of the Celtic Moon' is the essential starting point. It captures the peak of the Windham Hill era aesthetic, blending traditional Celtic sensibilities with a modern, peaceful clarity that makes it perfect for focused work or a quiet Sunday morning.

Lisa Lynne is a Celtic harpist, a composer and new-age recording artist. She is a self-proclaimed multi-instrumentalist who has "spent the last eighteen years pursuing her passion for the Celtic harp." Lynne released her first solo albums, starting in 1992, as Lisa Franco on the German label Innovative Communication. Also in the early 1990s, she became part of the group Celestial Winds, with David Young, releasing a number of albums. Since 1998, Lynne has released albums of Celtic harp music on New Earth Records, Windham Hill Records and her own label, Lavender Sky Music. Her 2003 release, Hopes & Dreames (New Earth) reached #6 on Billboard Magazine's Top New Age Albums chart. In 2002, Lynne became the first musician-in-residence at City of Hope National Cancer Center in Los Angeles. Her program "Hands on Harps," integrates music in the treatment programs at City of Hope. Music from her Love & Peace album was used in Alone in the Wilderness, a documentary from filmmaker Bob Swerer that aired on PBS, chronicling the life of Richard Proenneke in the Alaskan wilderness.
