Lombard is a foundational pillar of the 1980s Polish rock boom, a period of intense creativity and social significance. Formed in Poznań in 1981, the band's sound was defined by leader Grzegorz Stróżniak's ability to bridge the gap between accessible pop-rock and the more experimental textures of new wave and synth-pop.
The band is most famous for its 'golden era' featuring the powerhouse vocals of Małgorzata Ostrowska, whose charismatic and often aggressive stage presence challenged traditional gender roles in Polish music.
