Lost Balance

Lost Balance emerged from the Granada electronic scene in 2000, formed by Isabel Benedi and Mariano Rodriguez following their time in Lunatic Fringe. Positioned within the second wave of trip-hop, they moved beyond the genre's initial Bristol boundaries to incorporate a more experimental, Spanish-inflected atmospheric electronic sound.

Their work on the Autoreverse label, particularly the albums 'Air Control' and 'Alone in Multitudes', established them as key figures in the European downtempo movement of the early 2000s. Sonically, the project is defined by a 'noir' aesthetic, utilizing jazz-inflected samples, dusty percussion, and Benedi's signature breathy vocals which are often treated as a textural element within the mix.
