LOVEBITES

Formed in Tokyo in 2016, LOVEBITES has rapidly ascended to the top tier of the global power metal hierarchy. The band was founded by former Destrose members Miho and Haruna, seeking to create a project that blended traditional heavy metal aesthetics with modern technical proficiency.

Their sound identity is characterized by 'twin-lead' guitar harmonies reminiscent of Iron Maiden, fused with the high-speed intensity of Helloween and the melodic sensibilities of the Japanese 'Girls Metal' scene. Critically, they are lauded for their technical execution, particularly the neoclassical shredding of Midori and the versatile vocal range of Asami, who transitioned from a jazz and R&B background into metal. Their career arc has been marked by rapid international expansion, winning the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award for Best New Band in 2018. Despite a brief hiatus following the departure of founding bassist Miho, the addition of YouTube bass prodigy Fami in 2022 revitalized the group, leading to their highest-charting work, 'Judgement Day'.
