Luce is a San Francisco-based rock band formed in 2000 by singer-songwriter Tom Luce. The group rose to prominence in the early 2000s Bay Area scene, largely through the support of influential radio station KFOG.
Their sound is characterized by a blend of melodic pop-rock and adult alternative, heavily influenced by the harmonic structures of Lennon and McCartney and the earnest storytelling of 90s roots-rock. Their debut album earned them a California Music Award for Outstanding Debut, propelled by the success of the single 'Good Day', which became a staple in mid-2000s film and television syncs. Despite significant hardships, including a house fire and the theft of their touring equipment in 2007, the band has maintained a dedicated following.
