Luke

High-octane Miami bass and explicit club anthems defined by rattling 808s and rowdy call-and-response chants. Pure, unfiltered energy for the loudest parties.

Intro

This is the sound of the Florida underground breaking into the mainstream with a sledgehammer. It is defined by the heavy, distorted rattle of the Roland TR-808, creating a low-end frequency that you feel in your chest before you hear it in your ears. The energy is relentless, characterized by fast tempos and a chaotic, celebratory atmosphere that refuses to apologize for its volume or its content.

What sets this music apart is the mastery of the call-and-response technique, turning every track into a communal experience. It is less about intricate lyrical metaphors and more about rhythmic impact, using the voice as a percussive tool to drive the crowd into a frenzy. The production is raw and unpolished, favoring the grit of the street and the club over the sheen of a high-end studio.

For those looking to understand the roots of Southern hip-hop, start with the greatest hits or the landmark 'Banned in the U.S.A.' It captures a specific moment in time when music was a battleground for free speech, all while maintaining a beat that never stops moving.

Luther Roderick "Luke" Campbell (born December 22, 1960), also known by his stage name Uncle Luke (also known as Luke Skyywalker), is an American rapper, music promoter, record executive, actor, and former leader of the rap group 2 Live Crew. He is a pioneer in Florida hip hop and the creator of the Miami bass genre, known for his sexually crude call and response lyrics. He also starred in a short-lived show on VH1, Luke's Parental Advisory. A member of the Democratic Party, Campbell was a candidate for Mayor of Miami-Dade County in 2011, and is running for U.S. Congress in Florida's 20th congressional district in the 2026 election.
